RFP - 2nd Century District Plan

The Park District has prepared eight guiding plans over its 90-year history – in 1930, 1940, 1964, 1973, 1980, 1989, 1997, and 2013. The first comprehensive plan was developed in 1973 and established many of the policies that were contained in subsequent plans. The 2CDP will acknowledge the Park District’s past accomplishments and provide a forward-looking plan that addresses 21st Century realities - changing demographics, inequity, climate change, limited capacity and funding, advancing technologies, and competing priorities. The 2CDP will set the stage for the Park District’s second century with a renewed emphasis on equity, resiliency, and sustainability.
